Three big-carrier, Android-packing Samsung Galaxy phones down, one to go

We’ve already got the Captivate for AT&T, the Epic 4G for Sprint, and the Vibrant for T-Mobile — all three of which come armed with eye-popping 4-inch displays, slim profiles, speedy 1GHz processors, and five-megapixel cameras — and now Samsung’s set to finish its lap of the four big U.S. carriers with the Fascinate, due in the coming weeks for Verizon Wireless.

How Much Is Your College Diploma Worth?
There is a lot of talk about today’s 65 being yesterday’s 45 and that does seem to be true. They are certainly much more energetic and interested in so much more than they used to be. These are the baby boomers and they lead very active lives and are still holding responsible jobs. But now I look at another parallel. Is today’s college diploma the equivalent of yesterday’s high schooldiploma? It certainly seems to be.

Android is tops when it comes to ‘recent’ smartphone buyers

Nearly one in three who bought a smartphone in the past six months snapped up an Android handset, according to a new survey from Nielsen, leaving the iPhone and BlackBerry handsets to battle it out for second place.

New vaccine boosts survival of brain tumor patients

A new experimental vaccine drastically extends the life of patients with the most deadly type of brain tumor, glioblastoma (GBM), according to a small-scale US study.
The vaccine targets a aggressive cancer gene called EGFRvIII that fuels glioblastomas, researchers said, adding that in their study of 18 patients, survival was extended from an expected 15 months to 26 months.
